Indianapolis is once again playing host to the USA Swimming National Championships. I don’t know if it’s because Indianapolis is centrally located in the country, or the IU Natatorium is so cool, or what. But this isn’t the first time the national governing body of the sport of swimming in the United States has elected to hold the championships here.
The first day of the meet is July 7 and will run through July 11 at the IU Natatorium on the campus of IUPUI downtown. Swimming tickets are split up for day sessions and evening sessions each day, so if you are looking to see a particular event you should definitely find a schedule of events.
With all of the hubbub around last year’s Olympic games I would imagine most people will be wanting to catch a glimpse of Michael Phelps while he’s here. Also scheduled to swim are Dara Torres, Amanda Beard, Natalie Coughlin, Ian Crocker, Jason Lezak, Ryan Lochte, and Aaron Peirsol, to name a few other Olympians.
