After spending a great week here I decided to write on this blog about my time here and the best upcoming concerts (in my opinion), and to support my #1 ticket broker. There’s an App for that!!!!!!!!

Circle City Tickets just released a new App for the IPhone and Android!! Nothing could be easier or more convenient, especially sitting in traffic on I69.

I could order my tickets right from my phone. I could even see the seating diagram of the venue so I could get the best seat available. Sorting the tickets by the section and/or the price per ticket was great!! No guess work!!

The application, which is available for free at most mobile app stores, allows customers to buy tickets, view venue information, including seating charts, and utilizes GPS to recommend “Hot Events” in the user’s area. BOSS’S DAY IS OCTOBER 16, 2010!!!!! Having Boss’s Day fall on a Saturday sort of defeats the purpose and leaves our fearless leaders feeling a bit neglected, so I feel we should recognize our bosses a day early.  I have prepared an acrostic in honor of the big guys here at Circle City Tickets thanking them for the many great things they do around the office.  Without further ado… a poem:

B- Being available for your employees even though all we do is whine about the air conditioning, the soda selection in the fridge, the lack of lumbar support in our chairs, or the cancelled US Weekly subscriptions.

O- Only taking a 4 day vacation to Wine Country (when we’re sure you would like for it to be 12 days) so that you can be here to fix our printers, help us with our logins, order our office supplies, and sign our paychecks.

S- Smiling through our mindless stories about our cats, our kids, our spouses, and our elderly grandparents, even though you just heard the same story yesterday.

S- Showing you’re thinking about us by attempting to start planning our office holiday party two months in advance knowing that you will not get any solid plans from us until after the first week of December and all of the good restaurants are booked.

I sure wish there were more letters in the word “boss,” because there are so many great things our bosses do for us employees!  But, more importantly, our bosses do great things for all of you… by providing you with premium access to tickets to sporting events, concerts, and shows anywhere in the country!

The ESPN pre-season power rankings are in and the Indianapolis Colts are ranked pre-season number 1. Even though they put a stage extention and eliminated a number a seats, I feel my wife and I had the best seats in the house. They were right there at the end of the runway. We could not have been any closer. Because of the seat we had, those added seats to section B, we were chosen by one of the cameramen to have our picture on the big screens during one of the songs.

It was an Indiana night with Indiana boys (and girls) and Tom Petty blew the roof off of Verizon Wireless Music Center. This happened to be my first concert at the Verizon venue in Noblesville and it was the ultimate concert experience thanks to VIP parking and Club access. This is the only way to go—we drove right past the lines of traffic waiting to get in and entered the separate VIP parking lot. Top shelf bar and café-style dining don’t even compare to the lines at the concession stands outside the VIP area. That however, it not the main purpose of this blog, I just wanted to include it.  Goodness knows I would never miss the opportunity to express how much better SEC football is than every other conference, but this blog is not about that.

Actually it is.  Just kidding.  This year the SEC set a new record with 49 players from the conference selected in the 2010 NFL draft.  That was 15 more players than the Big Ten had selected–30% more players!!

Not only did the SEC have the most overall players selected, they also had 23 players taken in the first three rounds–the “premium” rounds–more than the second place Pac-Ten which had 15.

So for 11 of the past 13 years the SEC has had the most players taken in the draft.

That is dominance.  Something the SEC knows well.  (And something the Big Ten knows by another form of the word, i.e. “dominated”).

It is the holiday season and that means a couple of things: Lots of family time, the end of the NFL season and College Bowl season. This year it is hard to get excited about the Bowl season due the fact that there are 34 bowl games. Now, I understand that for the college athletes each and every bowl game is important but as a fan, why would I ever want to watch the New Mexico Bowl between Fresno St and Nevada or the Little Ceasars Bowl between Marshall and Ohio. These bowl games are pointless, I was flipping through the channels on Dec 26 and I just happened to turn on the Marshall and Ohio football game, the stands were about half full. This can not be a good situation for the BCS, the stadium, or the schools to have these games where they are loosing money. Instead of 34 bowl games they should have some sort of playoff. Maybe start the season a week earlier and get it all wrapped up before the athletes finals or start the playoffs after the finals. In the NFL there are two weeks between the Conference Championship game and the Super Bowl, why can’t the FBS do something similar. I think it would increase revenue and be great for college football.
