Indianapolis Tennis Championships

Now that Wimbledon is finished and sports history, tennis history,  has been made, we can all start gearing up for the last of the 2009 Grand Slams, the US Open.

There are some great qualifying events leading up to the US Open, and one of the biggest is the Indianapolis Tennis Championships.

Starting out at the Woodstock Country Club in1920 as the Western Open Championships, the name was changed to the Indianapolis Clay Court Championships in 1969.

This year’s rounds will be held on July 20, July 21, July 22, July 23, July 24 afternoon, July 24 evening, July 25, and July 26 at the Indianapolis Tennis Center.

Andy Roddick, with an impressive 2nd place finish at Wimbledon, is expected to play here on his way to the US Open.

So plan on a wonderful week of tennis in Indianapolis this month.  You can get tickets through CircleCityTickets.com

World Class Tennis in Indy

July brings the heat of summer, fireworks, fireflies, and tennis serves fired across the net.  The Indianapolis Tennis Championships will be held at the Indianapolis Tennis Center July 18-26.

As a qualifying event for the US Open, the ITC will undoubtedly bring some big named pros to Indianapolis, as in years past.  But whether or not the more famous names enter the tournament, you may rest assured the quality of tennis will be nothing less than top notch.

Indianapolis Tennis Championships tickets are on sale now and will become harder to come by as mid-July gets closer.  I already have mine held to my refrigerator door with a Wimbledon magnet.  I got them online through CircleCityTickets.com last week and can hardly wait for July to get here.

If a trip to Paris for the French Open or to London for Wimbledon is not possible for you this summer, come to the Indianapolis Tennis Championships and get your world-class tennis fix before the US Open closes the season.
