Spring has sprung and with it opportunities for you to enjoy time together with friends and family. Starting with The Greatest Spectacle in Racing on May 26 to The Kid Rock concert Aug. 25, there is something for everyone!
For those that love classic rock, it’s hard to beat Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers ( Klipsch – June 15) or Chicago with the Indianapolis Symphony ( The Lawn – Sep 15). Or how about Peter Frampton(The Lawn – June 19)? Justin Bieber (Bankers Life – July 10), P!nk (Bankers Life Nov. 21), Bruno Mars (Bankers Life – Aug 19) and Dave Matthews Band doing 2 shows! (Klipsch – June 21,22). Maroon 5 (Klipsch – Aug 3) are also big favorites.
Country fans can call their friends to arrange a group outing to Klipsch Music Center to see Brad Paisley (May 10), Tim McGraw (May 30), Zac Brown Band (June 9) or Kenny Chesney ( June 13).
Of course race fans will want to see The Indianapolis 500 as well as the Brickyard 400 and Moto GP. The Indianapolis Motor Speedway hosts many a group year after year with traditions and memories abounding.
Jimmy Buffett, Jonas Brothers, Luke Bryan, John Mayer, Keith Urban all add to the diverse offerings this summer. We have many more artists to choose from.
Don’t forget what could be the best concert of the year! The Rolling Stones “50 and Counting” tour! This is a can’t miss show!
This is the summer to connect or reconnect – choose an event, call your friends and make a memory! Circle city Tickets is here to help you with all you ticket needs. Braving the heat at the Klipsch
Posted by Matthew Williams in Concerts, Rock on July 13th, 2012
July is here, which means the summer concert season is heating up. I’m a little conflicted about summer concerts. While the biggest acts usually come to town in the summer, I am not a big fan of outside concerts in 100 degree heat. However, there are a few coming up at the Klipsch that I’m thinking of attending, regardless of the rising temperatures:
Nickelback (July 21)- Nickelback is one of those bands that have become cool to bash. The Canadian rockers have sold millions of records without receiving much critical acclaim. Their music may be a little milquetoast but it is undeniably catchy. Occasionally one of their songs will come on the radio and I’ll start singing along. Then I realize that societal norms dictate I change the channel or risk having complete strangers judge me as they drive by. Maybe going to one of their concerts will cure me of my self-consciousness.
Wiz Khalifa (July 28)- My first introduction to Khalifa was the ubiquitous “Black and Yellow.” I wasn’t impressed at the time, but he has grown on me. Wiz Khalifa’s skills can’t be compared to the greats of his genre, but his rhymes are simple, smooth, and delivered with incredible diction.
Jimmy Buffett (July 31)-I’ve been called a lot of things in my life but never a parrothead, the nickname for devout followers of Buffett. I’ve been told by reliable sources that Buffett puts on a great show and I am a fan of the songs “Margaritaville” and “It’s 5 o’clock Somewhere.” Here’s a fun fact: part of the music video for the latter song was shot at the Klipsch Music Center, back when it was the Verizon Center.
Which artists coming to town this summer are you willing to abandon air conditioning for?
Better Perfect Friends Endings

TV fans, do not be afraid. What you are seeing is not something from the Twilight Zone, but rather a mesh of writers’ lack of originality and creativity.
‘Friends’ (NBC) was the greatest show of all time and I’m confident enough to say so. It had the perfect formula for success with 3 guys and 3 girls who are all 30-something best friends living in the city, experience many adventures, hookups, breakups, and all to the sweet sound of a laugh track. Introduce an episode of ‘Friends’ to anyone who has never really watched the show and they will instantly fall in love with Ross, Rachel, Phoebe, Joey, Monica, and Chandler.
‘Friends’ aired for 10 wonderful years and there has not and will not be anything like it. Today you will find 3 shows on major networks that are attempting to use the magical formula to recreate the perfect friend group. However, we are not fooled and will not be swayed.
‘Happy Endings’ (ABC) premiered last night with one of the gals leaving one of the guys at the altar. How original. Rachel left her fiancé during the pilot episode of ‘Friends’ and on the ‘Perfect Couples’ (NBC) premiere two of the friends decide not to get married just before walking down the aisle. ’Happy Endings’ also features 6 familiar characters that you will find uncanny resemblances to in ‘Friends’ and ‘Perfect Couples’ as well as a purple-walled apartment that will take you back to Monica’s trademark apartment.
‘Perfect Couples’ follows the ‘Friends’ path a bit less than ‘Happy Endings’ since the characters are all in relationships with each other, however ‘Perfect Couples’ seems to have taken a page out of the ‘Better With You’ (ABC) playbook, a show that I have enjoyed from the start. ’Perfect Couples’ compares the lives at 3 couples who are all friends but are in different stages in their relationships. ’Better With You’ also features 3 couples in different staged relationships, however the characters are related with the two girls being sisters and the oldest couple being their parents. ’Better With You’ trumps ‘Perfect Couples’ because the characters are naturally funny and it is the only show out of the 3 that boasts a laugh track (a lost art).
There are so many similarities and comparisons between these 4 shows (as if the picture doesn’t say it all) that I could rant about the outrage all afternoon. So I will leave you with the most important piece of information… Cammi’s official ranking:
4th- ‘Perfect Couples’ (Bad jokes and bad casting! Bleh!)
3rd- ‘Happy Endings’ (Funny moments… if you can get past the ‘Friends’ parallels)
2nd- ‘Better With You’ (Classic comedy that will make you want to hang with your sis)
1st- ‘Friends’ (Need I say more?)
After all of this confusion, I am sure that you are wanting to do something that involves a bit less creative overlap. Well then check out Circle City Tickets for the best deals on tickets to shows to see your favorite creative music artists this summer!

BOB DYLAN!!!
And what could be scarier than Bob Dylan playing at the Murat Theatre on Halloween? With songs like Blood In My Eyes, Dead Man Dead Man, See That My Grave Is Kept Clean, Fixin’ To Die, Who Killed Davey Moore?, Seven Curses, and Man In The Long Black Coat you’re sure to get a fright during this spine-chilling performance.
Circle City Tickets still has great Royalty section seats available to fulfill your need for a thrill on the 31st. Costumes are welcome since I’m sure Bob Dylan will be dressing up… hopefully as a younger version of himself… SCARY!

Dave Matthews Band Announces Fall Tour
Posted by Indianapolis Tickets in Concerts, Rock, Uncategorized, affiliates on September 10th, 2010
Calling all Dave Heads, DMB just announced an 12 stop fall tour starting in November! Unfortunately, the tour is all on the East Coast, it starts in Buffalo, NY on November 2, includes two shows at Madison Square Garden on November 12 and 13 and wraps up where it all began 20 years ago with a two night stand in Charottesville, NC on November 19 and 20. This tour will be the last time anyone will be able to see DMB for at least a year, they have previously announced taking off 2011, and as good as this summer has been I am sure the fall tour will be just as amazing. As always, Circle City Tickets will have tickets to every show on DMB’s fall tour. Don’t miss out!
